MAYKEL FONTS :
He graduated from the Cuba
well-known school: Tropicana, where he studied classic, modern, afro,
cotemporary and rumba (Guaguanco, Yambù, Colombia). He is a former
dancer of the Cuba "Pro Danza" company.
In 2000, he settled in Italy
with the group "Irè Batà" and studied with several teachers such as:
Virgilio Pitzalis, Marco Macchetti, Steve LaChance, Gus Bemberry,
Christopher Uggins, Chacalli, Paganini….
In 2005, he took a Flamenco
workshop in Heres (Spain).
Style: contemporary, jazz, hip
hop, flamenco, Latin dance, acrobatic…
Events and Tours
2001: Summer tour with Milton
Morales (choreograph and dancer), tour with Pupa (choreograph and
dancer), tour with Algida (choreograph and dancer), company's leader for
Ray Sepulveda at Latin-American festival in Milan, dancer in "Mercadonegro"
company at Latin-American festival in Mi.
2006: he won the first price at
the World Salsa congress for best choreograph and best dancer, as solo
dancer in a show for the Smeraldo Theater in Milan (May 2001) with the
"Buena Vista Social Club – Soneros de Verdad". He also danced in the
Bacardi Salsa Congress.
